Datalec Services have provided professional advice and quality of installation that was required in order to showcase our range in our specially designed and curated Experience centre. We have been involved with Datalec services throughout the construction phase of the Experience centre and have continued utilise their services and expertise during operation.

The Fisher & Paykel Sydney Experience Centre was designed and constructed to showcase the latest Fisher & Paykel range. The facility will be used as a showroom and working kitchen and required a high end fitout inclusive of servicing for an operational kitchen. Individual spaces were created for displaying an array of products linked by a central common ‘courtyard’ area.

The Experience Centre was constructed within an existing cold shell structure which located within the Collins on Bourke building in Alexandria. Datalec Services scope of works included the following:

  • Upsized sub main cabling from the facility Main Switch Board of the facility to the Fisher & Paykel showroom.
  • A new Main Distribution Board supplied and installed suitable for the Fisher & Paykel.
  • Three floor boxes provided at the eastern end of the courtyard to power mobile cooking pods/stations.
  • Lighting design was a mix of display and general LED lighting was utilized extensively and of an architectural nature to suit a showroom and display environment.
  • A Clipsal C-Bus lighting control system was utilized to control the Experience Centre lighting.
  • The Back of House area was designed as a food grade preparation area requiring lighting to be sealed. Power within this area was generally a waterproof/IP rated outlet. Appliances were supplied by Fisher & Paykel and connected by Datalec Services.
  • The reticulation of power and data communications cables was installed under the raised floor. Lighting and mechanical power was reticulated above the closed ceilings and within
  • The mechanical plant installed was the first Hair (F&P brand) in Australia and presented numerous challenges as an untried product on the Australian market.
