Datalec Services was engaged to install communications for St George Hospital. This project was an expansion of the existing Accident and Emergency department on the ground floor of a live hospital. The new Acute Services Building was constructed above this existing working hospital floor. This was the biggest challenge requiring noise and access limitations and considerations for pathways. The installation included R&M Cat6a F/UTP cable, OS2 and Blown Fibre optic cables and voice backbone.
With such a large site under construction goods delivery was an ongoing issue and truck size was limited, hence larger items such as cabinets had to be unloaded on the street and trolleyed in via the ramp and lifts.
